Similar work
This job is written up from a customer's review. The photo shows similar work, not the customer's own roof.

Old skylights are a common source of leaks and heat loss. In this job three skylights were taken out and replaced, with the surrounding roof made good so each new window is properly flashed.
When skylights need replacing
Older skylights often leak around the frame, mist up between the panes, or let in draughts. Replacing the unit alone rarely fixes a leak if the old flashing stays in place.
On this job each skylight was replaced as a complete unit with its flashing, and the roof covering was cut in neatly around it.
Careful work around the frame
The customer described the roofer as meticulous, and that is what skylight work needs. Every tile or slate around the frame has to be cut and fitted so water runs over the flashing, not behind it.
If you have old skylights and are planning other roof work, replacing them at the same time saves on access.
