Photos from the job

A timber-clad bungalow was re-slated and the whole roofline was replaced at the same time. New white PVC fascias, soffits, bargeboards and gutters were fitted, so the roof and roof edges are all new together.
Why do the roofline with the roof
Fascias carry the gutters and the bottom edge of the roof covering. If they are rotten, a new roof sits on a weak edge. Replacing them during a re-roof means the membrane and first tile course can be dressed properly into the new gutter.
It also saves on scaffold. Fascias, soffits, bargeboards and gutters can all be done while the roof is already accessible.
Low-maintenance finish
White PVC roofline does not need painting and will not rot. Paired with a new slate roof, it gives a clean finish that should need little more than an occasional gutter clear.
The gable photo shows the wide bargeboard closing the verge neatly against the new slates.
